DVArchive is a great way to save shows from ReplayTV to my PC: http://dvarchive.org/
Recently I realized that my ReplayTV is an ideal way to finally convert my ancient VHS recordings from the 80's to digital format. I can just hook up a VCR to my ReplayTV, tell it to record for 6 hours, and then copy the file off using DVArchive.
Doing things that way would take forever, but it's by far the most practical way to do this.
Setup:
* I had problems with IR outputting the same code 3 times in a row. This was fixed by doing the following: http://www.digitalnetworksna.com/support/replaytv/document.asp?docID=228
